DHAKA, Sept 27, 2022 (BSS)- It was frustrating performance as Bangladesh
suffered 1-3 goal defeat to host Nepal in their second FIFA Tier-1 Int'l
Friendly match held today (Tuesday) at Dasharath Rangasal Stadium in
Kathmandu, Nepal.
The Jamal Bhuyan and co. entered the ground with the inspiration from the
happy memory of their first friendly match victory against Cambodia, but
their inspiration turned into a nightmare when the Bangladesh's defense line
failed to handle Nepalese forward Anjan Bista who scored hat-trick, all came
in the first half, putting his side on the driving seat early.
Nepal went ahead in the 18th minute when Anjan gave Nepal a deserving
lead with a perfect header from goal-mouth melee, following a free kick from
right wing.
He doubles the Nepal's lead in the 26th minute. This time he took a
grounded shot from close range after an attempt came to his way fisted by
Bangladesh's custodian Anisur Rahman Zico.
The prolific Nepalese forward Anjan completed his hat-trick goal in the
37th minute with gentle header capitalizing on a free kick from left wing.
After resumption, pressure piled up in this situation and Bangladesh were
desperately trying to stage a fight back and finally forward Sazzad Hossain
pulled one back scoring a lone goal for Bangladesh in the 57th minute of the
match.
Bangladesh however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back in the
match, but they failed to score in the remaining proceeding. The hosts
completely utilized their home ground advantage by notching their deserving
victory while Bangladesh were totally off colored, except the day's lone goal
they scored in the second half.
