Government working for people’s welfare: Mokhlesur Rahman

RANGPUR, Oct 13, 2024 (BSS) - Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration Md Mokhlesur Rahman here today said that the government was working for the welfare of people and everyone could see its reflection.
 
“All those who stood against the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, including those in the field administration, won’t go unpunished,” he told journalists following meeting with the family members of Shaheed Abu Sayeed in village Babonpur in Pirganj upazila.
 
He said, “The cases of those killed and injured in the Anti-Discrimination Student led Movement are remained under trial by the court and not much can be said in this regard. The UN is investigating the matter too.”
 
“Shaheed Abu Sayeed is now an international figure. I’m lucky to visit his grave here and offer Fateha seeking divine blessings of his departed soul,” he said.
 
Rahman said, “Anyway, no matter what we call this mass uprising or revolution, this nation will remember Shaheed Abu Sayeed forever.”
 
He said the administration will provide security to the family of Shaheed Abu Sayeed until the murder trial is over. In this connection, he asked the local administration to provide security to Shaheed Abu Sayeed's family.
 
Rahamn also assured to repair and develop all the roads leading to Shaheed Abu Sayeed's home.
 
He said, “Public servant means servant, I directly say servant. So we are always ready to serve the people. People will take our service, give us advice.”
 
Earlier, the senior secretary reached Babanpur village, visited the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayeed, met his family members when he handed over Taka 100,000/- to Shaheed Abu Sayeed family.
 
Shaheed Abu Sayeed’s father Md Mokbul Hossain, Secretary to the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Rezaul Maqsud Zahedi, Acting Divisional Commissioner Md Azmal Hossain, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Foysal and other officials were present, among others.
