RANGPUR, Oct 14, 2024 (BSS)- Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Dr. Md Mokhles ur Rahman has said none including those in the administration involved in suppressing the anti-discrimination movement would be spared.

“The cases filed for killings and injuring people during the anti-discrimination student movement are now under trial. The government is working to ensure their punishment and you will see its reflection,” he said.

Mokhles ur Rahman said this while talking to journalists after paying a courtesy call on the family members of Abu Sayeed, a martyr of the anti-discrimination student movement in Rangpur today.

The Public Administration secretary said, the United Nations (UN) is investigating into the matters of the killings and other incidents of July movement. None including those in the local administration who were against the movement would be spared,” he said.

Mokhles ur Rahman said, the nation would always remember Abu Sayeed for his sacrifice. The government would give security to his family until the trail of his murder case was completed.

He asked the local administration to ensure safety and security of Abu Sayeed’s family and gave them Tk one lakh.

Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, acting divisional commissioner of Rangpur Md Ajmal Hossain and senior officials were present.
