KISHOREGANJ, Oct 20, 2024 (BSS) - A delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami today visited the grave of martyred Ramzan Mia alias Jibon in the anti-discrimination-student-movement and gave his family financial assistance.
Jamaat's Kishoreganj district Ameer Prof Ramjan Ali along with other party men went to the house of the martyr Jibon at Pathanhati Village under Dulalpur Union in Bajitpur Upazila of the district where they offered prayers at his grave.
They also enquired about the wellbeing of Jibon's family and gave them some financial grant.
Jibon suffered critical bullet wounds on August 5 last during the anti-discrimination student movement in front of the Awami League (AL) office under Paltan Police Station.
He succumbed to his injuries in the Intensive care Unit (ICU) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on October 9 afternoon after fighting for life for long 65 days. He was 26 years old.
Speaking to journalists, Prof Ramjan Ali said they have given Tk 2 lakh as grant to each of the families of the martyrs in the district, adding that they would also arrange Tk two lakh for Jibon's family.
Bajitpur Upazila Jamaat Ameer Dr Yakub Ali, Secretary General Maulana Mobarak Hossain and Dilalpur Union Ameer Md Nur Mia, among others, were present.
