DHAKA, Mar 15, 2025 (BSS)- Saudi Arabia has unveiled its new tourism campaign, “Ramadan Lights,” inviting travelers to experience the rich traditions and vibrant celebrations of the holy month across iconic destinations like Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, and the Saudi Red Sea.
The campaign is part of Saudi’s national tourism brand, ‘Saudi, Welcome to Arabia,’ and marks the next phase of its global initiative, “This Land is Calling,” aimed at showcasing the Kingdom’s unique Ramadan atmosphere, the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) said in a press release here today.
Currently, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia, and US-Bangla Airlines operate 59 direct flights every week from Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet to various Saudi cities, making travel more accessible for Bangladeshis.
In a bid to facilitate easier travel, Bangladeshis with Umrah visas can now visit any destination within Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, those holding valid tourist or business visas from the USA, the UK, or any Schengen country, with stamped proof of entry, are eligible for an eVisa or visa on arrival at Saudi international airports.
Travellers can also apply for a Stopover Visa, valid for up to 96 hours, which can be secured 90 days in advance through the Saudia website.
Ramadan in Saudi Arabia offers a unique experience where the days remain peaceful and serene, while the nights come alive with vibrant markets, festive stalls, and extended shopping hours, said the STA.
Visitors can explore cultural hubs like Historic Jeddah’s Al Balad and Diriyah, visit awe-inspiring mosques, and wander through traditional souks, it added.
The STA highlighted that special Ramadan events and the warm hospitality of the Saudi people make this an ideal time for Bangladeshis to immerse themselves in the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage.
‘Saudi, Welcome to Arabia’ is dedicated to promoting Saudi Arabia as the fastest-growing and most exciting year-round tourist destination, welcoming travelers from all over the world, said the STA.
